## Synopsis

Residue (2015) is a British science fiction mystery miniseries broadcast on Netflix, created by John Harrison. Across three 45-minute episodes, photojournalist Jennifer Preston (Natalia Tena) pushes past official silence after a massive explosion tears through a futuristic UK metropolis. Her investigation pulls her toward a government cover-up and a paranormal phenomenon that seems to haunt the city, and she is joined and opposed by a shifting set of figures including Jonas Flack (Iwan Rheon) and Levi Mathis (Jamie Draven). The engine of the story is the hunt for hard evidence: photographs, witnesses, and fragments of documents that officials want buried. Each episode builds dread through close, grimy urban detail and a steady erosion of trust in institutions. The tone is bleak, paranoid and eerie, with an atmosphere of rain-slicked streets and unexplained menace. Fans of The X-Files and Utopia will find resonance in its blend of conspiracy, supernatural unease and British television grit. It is a compact, self-contained watch for viewers who want a tense, mystery-driven story told in a single short arc.
