## Synopsis

Private Eyes (2016-2021) is a Canadian crime comedy-drama series created by Tim Kilby and Shelley Eriksen for Global TV. Former pro hockey player Matt Shade (Jason Priestley) is knocked off his life's path and teams up with fierce private investigator Angie Everett (Cindy Sampson) to form an unlikely investigative partnership in Toronto. Their engine is simple and effective: Matt wants a new purpose, Angie wants clients and results, and every case pulls them deeper into the city's underworld and their own complicated lives. The show is built around a case-of-the-week format, with a family thread involving Matt's relatives, including Don Shade (Barry Flatman) and Jules Shade (Jordyn Negri), giving episodes emotional weight beside the investigations. Across five seasons and sixty episodes, the series balances playful banter with genuine mystery, producing a warm, breezy register that still lands real tension. Fans of Psych, Monk and Rookie Blue will find resonance in its light procedural rhythms, its quick-witted partnership and its Toronto-based private eye adventures. The show ended on an open note after its cancellation.
