## Synopsis

Rundfunk (2015-2016) is a Dutch sketch comedy series created by Yannick van de Velde and Tom van Kalmthout for NPO 3. Two friends, Erik (Tom van Kalmthout) and Tim (Yannick van de Velde), are the anchors of a chaotic high school where nothing runs smoothly. Their engine is simple: they keep getting pulled into escalating classroom and hallway mishaps, and each half-hour episode is built from short, self-contained sketches that stack awkward situations on top of each other. The school's odd faculty adds to the mess, with Pierre Bokma as Meneer Heydrich, Kees Hulst as Conrector Hulst and Jochem Nooyen as Barteljaap giving the staff their own absurd quirks. The series runs across two seasons and fifteen episodes, with a short first season and a longer second one. Its tone is deadpan and irreverent, with a sharp, cringe-tinged humor that never fully settles into warmth. Set in a contemporary Dutch school, it sits in the tradition of Dutch youth comedy and will appeal to viewers who enjoy the awkward energy of Skins or the offbeat teen sketches of Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. Fans of Derry Girls will also find its absurd take on adolescence familiar.
