## Synopsis

New Blood (2016) is a British crime drama series created by Anthony Horowitz for BBC One. Junior investigators Rash Sayyad (Ben Tavassoli) and Stefan Kowolski (Mark Strepan) are pushed together against a new breed of criminal, the wealthy individuals, corporations and governments who conceal wrongdoing behind respectable facades. Anna Chancellor, Mark Addy, Ariyon Bakare and Mark Bonnar fill out the wider cast of police, officials and powerful figures. Each of the seven hour-long episodes builds a single investigation into the machinery of influence, where a case that looks ordinary keeps opening onto something larger and more protected. The contemporary London setting gives the investigations a grounded, procedural texture, with the pressure of power and the risk of being quietly shut down shaping every step. The tone is tense, sober and methodical rather than flashy, with moments of personal stakes for the partners as the pair realise how far the rot reaches. Fans of Line of Duty, The Night Manager and Happy Valley will find resonance in its British institutional suspense and its focus on people who fight a system built to protect the powerful. Presented as a single complete season, it offers a tightly contained, self-contained crime story.
