## Synopsis

Agatha Raisin (2016-2022) is a British-American cozy mystery comedy series created by M. C. Beaton and broadcast on Sky One and Acorn TV. Adapted from Beaton's novel series, it follows Agatha Raisin (Ashley Jensen), a burnt-out publicity executive who retires early to a picturesque Cotswolds village and quickly finds a second career as an amateur detective. Her engine is restless ambition: she wants respect, a settled life and a place in the community, but her vanity and meddling keep dragging her into investigations of mischief and murder. Alongside her, James Lacey (Jamie Glover) provides a wry romantic counterweight, while Sarah Bloxby (Lucy Liemann) and the local police, including DCI Wilkes (Jason Barnett), form the crime-solving network around her. Each episode is a self-contained case of the week, with the village's gossip, rivalries and social set pieces woven into the puzzle. The result is a four-season run of breezy, warm and gently absurd entertainment, set in a deceptively quaint English countryside. Fans of Murder, She Wrote, Midsomer Murders and Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries will find resonance in its blend of bloodless crime, eccentric villagers and a determined amateur sleuth at the center of every mystery.
