## Synopsis

Megabeast Investigator Juspion (1985-1986) is a Japanese tokusatsu science fiction series produced by Toei Company for TV Asahi. Its orphaned hero Juspion, voiced and played by Hikaru Kurosaki, was raised on the planet Eijin by a space hermit after space pirates killed his parents. He carries a quest to fight the Mega beasts and defeat the villain Satan Gorth, moving from planet to planet until he reaches Earth. Supporting characters include Anri, played by Kiyomi Tsukada, and Edin, played by Noboru Nakaya, along with antagonists such as Mad Galan, played by Junichi Haruta. The engine of each episode is a monster-of-the-week confrontation in which Juspion dons his special suit, unleashes super human powers, and summons a transforming spaceship to defeat the threat. The single season runs 46 episodes of roughly 25 minutes each, with a continuing thread of vengeance and wandering. Its tone is earnest, brightly colored and action-driven, with a nostalgic retro charm. Fans of Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and the Metal Hero Series will find resonance in its suit-based heroics and kid-friendly spectacle.
