## Synopsis

Timeless (2016-2018) is an American sci-fi adventure series created by Shawn Ryan and Eric Kripke for NBC. Lucy Preston (Abigail Spencer), a historian, Wyatt Logan (Matt Lanter), a soldier, and Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett), a computer scientist, form an unlikely team tasked with pursuing Garcia Flynn (Goran Visnjic), a fugitive who has stolen a prototype time machine and intends to destroy America by altering the past. Each episode drops the crew into a pivotal moment in American history, where they must blend in, avoid changing events themselves, and stay one step ahead of the rogue traveler. The engine is a cat-and-mouse chase layered with a growing conspiracy, and the stakes shift with every jump. Across two seasons and twenty-six episodes, the show balances case-of-the-week historical set pieces with a serialized mystery. Its tone is brisk, earnest and optimistic, with a playful sense of wonder about famous events. Fans of Doctor Who, Travelers and Dark will find resonance in its blend of time travel and high-concept intrigue. The series was canceled before its story fully resolved, leaving the central mystery partly open.
