## Synopsis

13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) is an American Netflix teen drama series created by Brian Yorkey and Jay Asher, based on Asher's novel. High school student Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) receives a set of cassette tapes recorded by his classmate Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) after her death, each side naming a person who contributed to her despair. As Clay listens and moves through the town's halls, parties and secrets, he confronts classmates including Tony Padilla (Christian Navarro) and Justin Foley (Brandon Flynn), and the tapes pull him into a web of guilt, cruelty and concealment. The series unfolds in a suburban American high school in the present day, with its story carried through flashback sequences tied to Hannah's recordings. Across four seasons it moves as one serialized mystery, with each episode built around a tape and its revelations, and the tone stays heavy and emotionally raw, shaped by grief, bullying and the aftermath of harm. Fans of Skins, Pretty Little Liars and Euphoria will find resonance in its teen trauma, sharp social dynamics and sustained sense of unease. The show is a sobering, dark watch for mature viewers.
