## Synopsis

24: Legacy (2017) is a US spin-off thriller series created by Manny Coto and Evan Katz for FOX, a continuation of the franchise built around real-time counterterrorism. Corey Hawkins plays Eric Carter, a military hero whose homecoming turns dangerous when his life is threatened and he must ask the Counter Terrorist Unit for help. Miranda Otto as Rebecca Ingram and Anna Diop as Nicole Carter round out the principal cast, with Jimmy Smits as Senator John Donovan adding political pressure. The engine of the show is simple and urgent: a man with a soldier's skills and no clear allies must unravel a conspiracy while a potentially massive attack looms over American cities. Each episode pushes forward through surveillance, covert operations, and tense confrontations between agents and the people hunting them. The single season of twelve episodes is one continuing story rather than a case of the week, with the ticking-clock structure driving every hour. Set in present-day America, the series carries a tense, relentless, patriotic-tinged atmosphere of paranoia and duty. Fans of 24, Homeland and Tyrant will find resonance in its blend of government espionage, moral compromise, and national security dread. Its single season was canceled before the larger conspiracy could fully resolve.
