## Synopsis

Good Girls Revolt (2015-2016) is an American period drama series created by Dana Calvo for Amazon Studios, streaming on Prime Video. Set in the late 1960s at a New York news magazine, the story follows Cindy Reston (Erin Darke), one of the women researchers who discover they are paid less and promoted less than the men around them. Joy Bryant plays Eleanor Holmes Norton, a real-life civil rights lawyer whose presence sharpens the fight, while Hunter Parrish plays Douglas Rhodes, a writer caught between his career and the changing expectations around him. Anna Camp and Genevieve Angelson round out the principal ensemble. The engine of the show is the slow, costly push for equal treatment, played out in offices full of typewriters, cigarette smoke, and tense meetings with editors who resist every demand. Each episode mixes workplace strategy with personal cost in romances, marriages, and friendships strained by the cause. It is a single ten-episode season with a measured, sharp, sometimes wry tone, closer in spirit to the workplace period drama of Mad Men and the ensemble newsroom storytelling of The Newsroom. Viewers who enjoy sixties office period pieces and stories about women's collective fight for dignity will find it resonant.
