## Synopsis

Chance (2016-2017) is an American crime drama created by Kem Nunn and Alexandra Cunningham for Hulu. Hugh Laurie stars as Eldon Chance, a San Francisco forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets pulled into a dangerous world of mistaken identity after his professional skills and personal fragility collide with a case that is not what it seems. Around him, Ethan Suplee plays D, Greta Lee plays Lucy, and LisaGay Hamilton plays Suzanne Simms, each tied to a web of violence and suspicion. Across two seasons and twenty episodes, the engine of the show is Chance's struggle to trust his own perceptions while navigating corrupt police officers, dangerous associates and a conspiracy that keeps tightening around him. Each season builds a serialized mystery in which clues, identities and loyalties shift, and the mental illness at the heart of the protagonist becomes both obstacle and lens. The tone is tense, dark and atmospheric, with a grounded San Francisco setting that gives the story a gritty, contemporary texture. Fans of Mindhunter, The Night Of and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its unsettling blend of psychological interiority and crime-thriller pressure.
