## Synopsis

Quantum Break (2016) is an American science fiction thriller series created by Ben Ketai for Xbox Live. Across four short episodes of roughly twenty minutes each, the series follows Paul Serene (Aidan Gillen) and Martin Hatch (Lance Reddick), the leaders of the corporate outfit Monarch Solutions, as they pursue a dangerous plan tied to the approaching End of Time. Three Monarch employees, Liam Burke (Patrick Heusinger), Charlie Wincott (Marshall Allman) and Fiona Miller (Mimi Michaels), sit at the center of the story as they struggle to prevent the catastrophe or simply survive it. The engine of the show is the tension between corporate ambition and the collapse of time itself, with each episode tightening the pressure on people caught between rival forces. Its tone is tense and propulsive, with a serious, cerebral register and a constant sense of dread. Built as a companion to a video game, the series blends live action drama with interactive style storytelling and a tightly wound time travel mystery. Fans of Dark, Lost and Looper will find resonance in its serialized mind bending structure and its corporate conspiracy at the heart of the apocalypse.
