## Synopsis

Hitori No Shita - The Outcast (2016-present) is a Chinese and Japanese animated urban fantasy series adapted from the manhua by Chinese web comic creators, produced by Emon Animation Company and Haoliners Animation and aired on Tencent Video and TOKYO MX. It follows Zhang Chulan (voiced by Yuntu Cao), a very ordinary college student whose quiet life collapses after he is attacked by zombies in a village graveyard and rescued by a mysterious sword-wielding girl, Xia He (voiced by Shan Xin). Pulled into a hidden supernatural city where martial power and rival factions decide who matters, Chulan pursues survival and a way to rise through the ranks while battling enemies with help from allies such as Xu Si (voiced by Sheng Feng) and Feng Baobao (voiced by Xiao Liansha). Across six seasons and ninety-four episodes, the story is one continuing serialized arc with frequent standalone fights inside it. The tone blends brawling action with wry comedic banter and an underdog warmth, while the city setting carries a gritty, neon-tinged underworld feel. Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen, Mo Dao Zu Shi and Tower of God will find resonance in its blend of hidden-world intrigue, power ranking and irreverent fights.
