## Synopsis

HarmonQuest (2016-2019) is an American animated improv comedy series created by Dan Harmon and Spencer Crittenden, distributed through SeeSo and VRV. Dan Harmon plays the adventurer Fondue Zoobag, with Erin McGathy as Beor O'Shift, Jeff Bryan Davis as Boneweevil, and Spencer Crittenden as the Game Master who runs the campaign. The engine of the show is a tabletop roleplaying session in which the comedians improvise their fantasy quest, so the story is driven by unscripted dialogue, dice rolls, and the characters' attempts to outwit one another and the game world. Each episode is roughly twenty-five minutes, and the series runs for three seasons and thirty episodes, with a standing cast that is joined by guest comedians in individual episodes. The series is one continuing campaign, with its story growing across seasons rather than resetting. Its setting is an invented fantasy realm rendered through animation, and the tone is irreverent, loose, and affectionately silly. Fans of Critical Role, Community, and Comedy Bang! Bang! will find resonance in its blend of improvised banter and cult-favorite fantasy parody.
