## Synopsis

MacGyver (2016-2021) is an American network action adventure series created by Peter M. Lenkov for CBS. Lucas Till plays Angus Mac MacGyver, a young inventor whose gift for turning everyday objects into solutions makes him the ideal operative for a clandestine organization that prevents disasters before they strike. Tristin Mays plays Riley Davis, his capable partner in the field, while Henry Ian Cusick plays Russ Taylor and Justin Hires plays Wilt Bozer among the team members who help plan each mission. Each episode is built around a fresh threat, with the team racing against a clock to defuse an explosion, rescue a stranded target, or stop a plot before it escalates. The series runs five seasons over 94 episodes, a case of the week format with a serialized thread of recurring characters and an overarching mission. Its tone is breezy and optimistic, with inventive set pieces and a playful sense of problem solving. Set in modern-day United States, the show is a contemporary reimagining of a classic franchise. Fans of Chuck, Burn Notice and Alias will find resonance in its blend of gadget driven ingenuity, espionage style teamwork and high stakes rescues.
