## Synopsis

The Exorcist (2016-2017) is a US supernatural horror series created by Jeremy Slater and broadcast on FOX. Two very different priests, Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Father Marcus Brennan (Ben Daniels), are drawn into one family's terrifying case of demonic possession. The engine of the show is the clash of their temperaments and methods as they attempt to free the afflicted and resist the forces working through them, with each season built around a new household and its secrets. Set in present-day Chicago, the story moves through parish offices, hospital rooms, and the homes of the afflicted, with Geena Davis and Alan Ruck among the cast of the afflicted family. The series spans two seasons of ten episodes each and was canceled before its story was finished. It carries a grim, dread-filled atmosphere, with grotesque makeup and a sustained sense of spiritual threat. Fans of Supernatural and the 1973 film The Exorcist will find the same blend of Catholic faith, possession horror, and demonic menace.
