## Synopsis

Yunus Emre (2015-2017) is a Turkish historical drama series created by Mehmet Bozdağ and İsa Yıldız for TRT 1. Gökhan Atalay plays the title character, a figure who establishes himself as a Seljuk official in the town of Nallihan while Mongol invasions grow more frequent. Payidar Tüfekçioğlu plays Tapduk Emre, the dervish master whose monastery Yunus joins, and the story follows his long apprenticeship on the road to becoming a dervish. Supporting roles go to Baran Akbulut as Molla Kasım, Mehmet Çepiç as Ahi Mesud, and Asuman Çakır as Hanım Ana. Across two seasons of forty-four episodes, the drama moves through court duties, communal tensions, and the quiet discipline of a dervish lodge, with each episode built around a lesson, a trial of faith, or a political pressure threatening the community. The atmosphere is measured and devotional, with long stretches of reflection, ritual music, and sober period costume. Its register sits somewhere between a historical epic and a meditative spiritual biography, with the emotional center resting on the teacher and student bond. Fans of Diriliş: Ertuğrul, Kurulus: Osman and Rumi will find resonance in its blend of frontier politics, Anatolian history, and sufi devotion.
