## Synopsis

Pitch (2016) is an American sports drama series created by Dan Fogelman and Rick Singer for FOX. Kylie Bunbury plays Ginny Baker, a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball, with Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Mike Lawson and Ali Larter as Amelia Slater among the principal figures around her. The engine of the series is Ginny's drive to earn a place on the mound against the doubts of a sport that has never welcomed a woman, and the pressure of performing under constant public scrutiny. Each episode follows her training, her games, and the personal and professional pressures that come with a historic breakthrough. Mark Consuelos and Dan Lauria round out the principal cast. The ten-episode season is a single continuing arc rather than a case-of-the-week format, and it is a one-season run that was canceled. Set in contemporary American professional baseball, the series carries an earnest, hopeful register that favors perseverance and dignity over cynicism. Its tone is sincere and inspirational, with a focus on resilience and ambition. Viewers who enjoy Friday Night Lights, A League of Their Own, and Ted Lasso will find the same blend of sports stakes and heartfelt determination.
