## Synopsis

Divorce is an American dark comedy series created by Sharon Horgan for HBO. It follows Frances and Robert DuFresne, a middle-aged suburban couple whose marriage is ending while they still share the daily work of raising their children. The engine of the show is the awkward, painful and sometimes oddly liberating process of untangling their lives: dividing a home, testing new romances, and facing friends and family who pull them into fresh entanglements. Each episode is built from small domestic scenes, uncomfortable confrontations and tentative attempts at a second chance. The story runs as one continuing narrative across its seasons rather than as a case-of-the-week format. Its suburban setting gives the series a grounded, everyday texture. The tone is dry, witty and candid, mixing bleak humor with real tenderness about people who still care for each other even as they let go. Viewers who enjoy mature dramedies about relationships, such as Enlightened or Fleabag, will find much to recognise here.
