## Synopsis

Crisis in Six Scenes (2016) is a United States comedy miniseries created by Woody Allen for Prime Video. Set in the 1960s during turbulent years in the United States, the six episode run follows a middle class suburban family whose quiet household is thrown into disarray when an unexpected guest arrives and turns their routine upside down. Woody Allen plays Sidney J. Munsinger, alongside Elaine May as Kay Munsinger, Rachel Brosnahan as Ellie, and John Magaro as Alan Brockman, with Miley Cyrus as Lennie Dale and David Harbour as Vic adding to the ensemble. The engine of the show is domestic friction in close quarters: a household trying to keep its composure while the outside world fractures around it. Each episode unfolds as a compact comic scene, so the series reads as a single continuing situation rather than a case of the week. Its tone is wry, talky and gently absurd, with a sardonic eye on anxious middle class manners and the political unrest pressing in from outside. Fans of Mad Men, Arrested Development and Louie will find resonance in its satirical sensibility and its portrait of a family cracking under social pressure, delivered as a brisk, self-contained comedy.
