## Synopsis

Winter Sun (Kış Güneşi, 2016) is a Turkish melodrama series created by Ayça Mutlugil for Show TV. Its protagonist, a modest fisherman, is drawn into a revenge plot after ruthless businessmen kill his father and order the death of his twin brother, and he adopts a new persona to get close to the men responsible. Şükrü Özyıldız plays the dual roles of Efe and Mete, with Aslı Enver as Nisan, Şenay Gürler as Leyla, and Hakan Gerçek as Yakup among the principal cast. The engine of the story is the tension between the hunger for justice and the risk of losing himself, as every new identity brings him closer to lovers, rivals, and enemies who may recognize who he really is. Told as a single self-contained season of eighteen episodes, the show unfolds as one continuous serialized story with long-form emotional arcs. Set in a contemporary Turkish coastal milieu, it blends intimate family drama with glossy romance and class conflict. Its tone is earnest and emotionally heightened, foregrounding longing, loyalty, and betrayal. Fans of The Count of Monte Cristo, Kara Sevda, and Fatmagul will find resonance in its vengeance-driven romance and wronged-hero structure.
