## Synopsis

Alex Hugo (2015-present) is a French crime drama series created by Franck Thilliez and Nicolas Tackian and produced for France 3 and France 2. Samuel Le Bihan plays former Marseilles police officer Alex Hugo, who leaves the city behind after growing weary of its daily violence and settles into a remote mountain community. Alongside him, Lionnel Astier plays Angelo Batalla and Mikaël Fitoussi plays Pascal Renart, both part of the local police circle around him, while Marilyne Canto appears as Commissaire Christine Dorval. Each feature-length episode runs about ninety minutes and is built around a self-contained investigation that pulls Hugo into the lives of villagers, families, and outsiders hiding private troubles. The show spans eleven seasons and thirty-four episodes, giving it the steady, unhurried rhythm of a long-running regional procedural rather than a serialized epic. Its tone is melancholic and contemplative, with snow-covered peaks, close-knit communities, and quiet moral weariness shaping the atmosphere. Fans of Death in Paradise, Engrenages, and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its blend of procedural mystery, isolated setting, and a lead character searching for peace after violence.
