## Synopsis

Servamp (2016) is a Japanese anime series adapted from the manga of the same name and produced for AT-X, with a twelve-episode run. Mahiru Shirota (Takuma Terashima), a high school freshman whose personal philosophy is strict non-intervention, takes in a stray black cat named Kuro (Yuki Kaji) who turns out to be a servamp, a servant vampire bound to him. Mahiru's quiet everyday life in modern Japan is soon pulled into an ancient, surreal conflict between vampires and humans, with other vampires and their human servants arriving with their own agendas. Principal voices include Yuuto Suzuki as Sakuya Watanuki, Hiro Shimono as Misono Arisuin and Nobunaga Shimazaki as Licht Jekylland Todoroki. Each episode mixes light, playful comedy with supernatural action and the awkward friendships that form between unlikely housemates. The tone stays breezy and comic, with an undercurrent of whimsical dread as the hidden world of vampires presses in on ordinary school life. Fans of Rosario + Vampire and Natsume's Book of Friends will find similar appeal in its blend of teenage comedy and urban supernatural fantasy. The single season ends on an open note that leaves the larger conflict unresolved.
