## Synopsis

The Story of Tracy Beaker (2002-2006) is a British children's comedy-drama created by Jacqueline Wilson for CBBC. Dani Harmer plays Tracy Beaker, a ten-year-old girl placed in a children's home, who is clever, defiant and quick to cause trouble. Around her, Darragh Mortell as Crash Watkins, Montanna Thompson as Justine Littlewood and Chelsie Padley as Louise Govern form a shifting circle of housemates whose friendships and rivalries drive each story. The engine of the show is simple: Tracy wants to be seen and to belong, and her schemes and pranks collide with the rules of the home and the adults trying to look after her. Each fifteen-minute episode is built from a small domestic incident, such as a dispute over a bedroom, a scheme gone wrong or a school problem, that resolves with warmth. Across five seasons and 120 episodes it stays a single continuing world of recurring characters. Set in a contemporary British care home, the tone is cheeky, gentle and hopeful, with comic energy balanced by real emotional honesty about foster care. Fans of Grange Hill, Matilda and Horrible Histories will find the same blend of youthful mischief and heart.
