## Synopsis

Stan Against Evil (2016-2018) is an American supernatural horror comedy series created by Dana Gould for IFC. Veteran sheriff Stanley Miller (John C. McGinley), recently pushed out of his post after an angry outburst, finds himself grudgingly partnered with new sheriff Evie Barret (Janet Varney) to face the demons haunting their small New Hampshire town. Deputy Leon Drinkwater (Nate Mooney) and Stan's wife Denise (Deborah Baker Jr.) orbit the investigations, which unfold as a case-of-the-week format in which each episode pits the mismatched pair against a fresh supernatural nuisance. The engine is simple: Stan wants his badge and dignity back, Evie wants to prove she can hold the town together, and the demons keep escalating. Across three seasons of eight episodes each, the show plays its horror with a gleeful, gory irreverence, leaning into crude jokes and cheerful bloodshed. The tone is brash and affectionate, with a grumpy lawman's cynicism softened by real loyalty. Fans of Ash vs Evil Dead, Supernatural and Ghosts will find resonance in its blend of monster mayhem, bickering partners and cult-comedy charm.
