## Synopsis

Pokémon Generations (2016-2017) is a Japanese animated miniseries produced by OLM and released on YouTube, a short-form retrospective anime built around the creature franchise. Across eighteen brief episodes of roughly five minutes each, it revisits each generation of the Pokémon video games, following the franchise's own worlds rather than a single new protagonist. Its engine is nostalgia: each episode returns to a memorable moment from a game and reframes it with behind-the-scenes perspective, showing how those timeless beats came to be. The journey moves from the earliest days in the Kanto region to the splendor of the Kalos region, so the stories cover a wide span of regional settings and creatures. Pikachu, voiced by Fumiko Orikasa, is the most recognizable presence among the cast. The tone is warm, bright and reverent, aimed at children and longtime fans who grew up with the games. Structurally it is a one-season anthology-style retrospective, with each short segment self-contained and easy to dip into. Fans of Pokémon the Series, Digimon Adventure and Pokémon Journeys will find familiar creature-driven charm and an affectionate family-friendly sensibility. Viewers searching for a gentle, nostalgic creature show with a lighthearted feel will find it an easy and comforting watch.
