## Synopsis

Chicago Justice (2017) is a American network crime drama series created by Dick Wolf for NBC, part of the Chicago franchise. Philip Winchester plays prosecutor Peter Stone, leading a State's Attorney's team alongside investigator Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), with Joelle Carter as Laura Nagel and Carl Weathers as Mark Jefferies rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the show is the team's drive to build cases in Chicago courtrooms and on its streets while fighting political interference, office rivalries and the pressure of high-profile controversies that land on the State's Attorney's desk. Each thirteen-episode season is largely built as a case of the week, with investigators chasing evidence and prosecutors shaping it into charges, though recurring politics give the stories a continuing undercurrent. The result is a brisk, earnest procedural with a hard-edged urban sheen, a serious and hopeful register, and a steady moral focus on accountability. Viewers who enjoy Law & Order, The Good Wife and Chicago P.D. will find familiar ground here. The series ran for a single season on NBC and was canceled before its story could fully develop.
