## Synopsis

The Blacklist: Redemption (2017) is a US network crime drama and spinoff of The Blacklist, created by Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath, Lukas Reiter and J.R. Orci for NBC. Covert operative Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) joins forces with Susan 'Scottie' Hargrave (Famke Janssen), the brilliant and cunning chief of a covert mercenary organization that takes on problems too dangerous for the government. Alongside them, Matias Solomon (Edi Gathegi), Nez Rowan (Tawny Cypress) and Dumont (Adrian Martinez) form the working core of the team. The engine of the series is a steady run of dangerous missions, each one testing whether a team of hired operatives can trust one another while staying ahead of the authorities who would shut them down. Told in a single eight-episode season of 42-minute installments, it plays as a serialized mission-driven thriller with a tense, gritty and morally gray register. Its sleek, hard-edged mood and ticking-clock operations recall the spy-team energy of Leverage and the lone-operative competence of Burn Notice, with fans of The Blacklist finding a familiar world of shadowy clients and sudden reversals. The series was canceled, leaving its story unfinished.
