## Synopsis

Freakish (2016-2017) is an American teen science fiction horror series created by Beth Szymkowski and produced for Hulu. Students trapped inside their high school must band together after a meltdown at a local chemical plant lets predatory mutant freaks take over the town and the campus. Leo Howard plays Grover Jones, a student at the center of the fight, alongside Liza Koshy as Violet Adams, Tyler Chase as Barrett McIntyre, and Meghan Rienks as Zoe Parker, whose loyalties, rivalries, and fears shift as the threat closes in. Each episode of this two-season run is built from short, tense sequences in which the group scavenges supplies, hides from creatures in halls and classrooms, and wrestles with who they can trust. The engine is simple: survive the night, keep the others alive, and find a way out of a building that has become a trap. The tone mixes gory peril with teen melodrama and bursts of dark humor, giving the show a pulpy, restless energy. Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The 100 will find resonance in its blend of adolescent drama and genre survival. Its twenty episodes move quickly, with a clear eye on the friendships and romances that keep its young characters grounded amid the chaos.
