## Synopsis

Băieți de oraș (2016-2018) is a Romanian comedy series created by Mihai Bendeac for Antena 1, running three seasons and 25 episodes of roughly 45 minutes. It follows four teenagers, Roby Roberto, Malone, Robotzelu and Dorian, as they stumble through friendship, romance and the small scrapes of growing up in a Romanian city. Mihai Bendeac plays Robert Roby Manea, the group's central figure, alongside Vlad Drăgulin as Malone, Cosmin Nedelcu as Dorian, and Lorena Luchian as Daniela. Anca Dinicu and Doina Teodoru also appear in the principal cast, and the series features well-known Romanian film actors in supporting roles. Its engine is simple and episodic in spirit: each episode builds around a new plan, rivalry or misunderstanding that tests the bond between the friends and their wish to look cool in front of the people they care about. The tone is boisterous, affectionate and self-aware, with broad slapstick and loud teenage bravado softened by warmth. The intro song, performed by rapper Cheloo, gives the show a distinctly local flavor. It has become one of the most watched series in Romania, and fans of Skins, How I Met Your Mother and Workaholics will find a similar appetite for ensemble mischief and youthful humor.
