## Synopsis

Kiss Him, Not Me (2016) is a Japanese animated high school romantic comedy created for BS-TBS and TBS, adapted from a shoujo manga and produced by Brain's Base. Kae Serinuma (voiced by Yu Kobayashi) is a second year student and avid fujoshi who secretly ships her classmates Igarashi and Nanashima, voiced by Yuki Ono and Keisuke Komoto. After a stressful stretch leaves her noticeably thinner, she suddenly draws the attention of snarky junior Hayato Shinomiya (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka) and senior Asuma Mutsumi (Nobunaga Shimazaki), and the engine of the series is her attempt to manage their advances while her head stays full of boys' love fantasies. Each episode is built from awkward classroom encounters, misread signals and private inner monologues that spiral into comic panic. The single twelve-episode season is a brisk, light and sweetly embarrassing ride, with a breezy and joyful register and a warm affection for its cast. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Ouran High School Host Club and Maid-sama! will find a similar blend of school romance and self-conscious comedy.
