## Synopsis

Devil Beside You (2005) is a Taiwanese television romance series created for CTV, adapted from a Japanese manga and running a single season of twenty episodes. Rainie Yang plays Qi Yue, a shy college student who finally decides to confess to her longtime crush, only to hand her love letter to the wrong person. That nervous slip sets off a tangled love triangle that rearranges her campus life. Mike He plays Jiang Meng, one of the young men caught up in the misunderstanding, while Kingone Wang appears as Shang Yuan-yi and Joyce Tsai as Qing Zi, both adding friction and loyalty to the circle of classmates. Each episode is built from small misunderstandings, teasing rivalries, and the awkward push and pull of first crushes, with friendships tested as feelings shift. The tone stays light and breezy, sweet and playful with a warm nostalgic glow, as the college setting gives the romance room to unfold gradually. Fans of Meteor Garden, Hana Yori Dango and Boys Over Flowers will find a similar blend of youthful romance, rivalry turned affection, and gentle comedy in this early-two-thousands Taiwanese take on campus love.
