## Synopsis

The Full-Time Wife Escapist (2016) is a Japanese romantic comedy series broadcast on TBS, adapted from a manga and running eleven episodes of about fifty-four minutes each. Single twenty-five-year-old Mikuri Moriyama takes a job as a housekeeper for thirty-six-year-old Hiramasa Tsuzaki, and when misfortune leaves her needing a place to live, the two agree to marry on paper as a cover. Their arrangement drives the show: each episode turns on household chores, office rumors, and the awkward rules they set for sharing an apartment, while colleagues and family keep threatening to expose the fake marriage. Supporting characters add romantic complications and light social observation. The show plays out as a gentle slow burn, with warm humor, understated glances, and a cozy domestic atmosphere that gradually shifts from pretense toward sincere feeling. Its light, hopeful register and focus on everyday intimacy make it a comforting pick for viewers who enjoy the contract marriage premise, in the vein of Crash Landing on You and My Love from the Star. Fans of Japanese romantic comedies will find its tender, low-stakes charm rewarding.
