## Synopsis

The Kicks (2016) is a single-season American family sports drama created by Alex Morgan and David Babcock for Prime Video. Devin Burke (Sixx Orange) is a skilled young soccer player whose family has relocated from the East Coast to California, and she finds herself on the Kentville Kicks, a team that does not quite meet the standard she is used to. Her struggle is twofold: she must earn her place as a leader on the field while also building friendships in an unfamiliar town. Her brother Bailey Burke (Gabe Eggerling) and parents Tom Burke (Tim Martin Gleason) and Sharon Burke (Monica Lacy) anchor the household, while teammates such as Emma Gelbaum (Sophia Mitri Schloss) and Mirabelle Harris (Isabella Acres) make up the youth squad around her. Across ten episodes of roughly half an hour each, the show plays out as a gentle, self-contained family story built around practices, matches, and everyday school and home life. The tone is warm and upbeat, with a clear focus on teamwork, belonging, and personal growth. Viewers who enjoy family-friendly sports stories, such as Bluey for its warmth and Ted Lasso for its optimism about teams and newcomers, will find the same comforting appeal here.
