## Synopsis

The Princess Weiyoung (2016) is a Chinese costume drama series created by Qin Jian and produced by Croton Media for Dragon Television, running 54 episodes in a single season. Tang Yan plays Li Weiyang, a princess from a ruined noble household who takes on the identity of the woman who once saved her life, and then moves carefully through rival courts to avenge her loved ones. Luo Jin and Vanness Wu appear as the Tuoba princes whose ambitions and loyalties tangle with her plans, while Mao Xiaotong and Li Xinai play the sisters whose rivalry sharpens the stakes. The engine of the show is deception: every alliance is a risk, every intimacy could expose her, and each episode turns on a new negotiation between vengeance and the feelings that begin to grow in her path. Its episodes unfold as one continuing story across the full run, with court intrigue, family betrayal and political maneuvering building toward a reckoning. Set in an invented ancient Chinese kingdom with palace halls, banquet politics and military camps, the series carries a melancholic, wistful and romantic register. Fans of Scarlet Heart: Ryeo, Empresses in the Palace and The Story of Minglan will find resonance in its blend of intrigue, longing and hidden identity.
