## Synopsis

AIKa R-16 Virgin Mission (2007) is a Japanese animated miniseries produced by Studio Fantasia and rated TV-MA. Its protagonist is Sumeragi Aika, voiced by Ami Koshimizu, a skilled but impulsive high school student who holds a C-class salvager license yet struggles to find work because of her age and reputation. She advertises her services around school and is hired by Erika, voiced by Misato Fukuen, a wealthy classmate who leads the Treasure Hunting Club. What starts as a simple salvage job grows dangerous, pulling Aika into a high-stakes mission, a clash in the southern islands, and a mystery surrounding a girl named Karen, voiced by Mamiko Noto. The engine of the story is Aika's need to prove herself while competing rivals and hidden stakes close in. The series runs only three episodes of about twenty-five minutes each, so it moves briskly and tells one continuous story. It is built on the pulpy energy of a japanese anime action adventure, with a bold teen cast, sexualized fanservice humor and a restless, adventurous mood. Fans of Cowboy Bebop, Sakura Wars and Yu-Gi-Oh will find a similar blend of youthful bravado and treasure hunting danger here.
