## Synopsis

Skylanders Academy (2016-2018) is a French-American animated action adventure series created by Eric Rogers and produced by TeamTO and Activision Blizzard Studios for Netflix. Rooted in the Skylanders toy and video game franchise, it follows a team of heroes with distinct elemental powers and personalities as they patrol the sprawling Skylands universe, guarding it against villains. Spyro the Dragon (voiced by Justin Long) leads a cast that includes Stealth Elf (Ashley French), Master Eon (Chris Diamantopoulos), Eruptor (Jonathan Banks), Pop Fizz (Bobcat Goldthwait), Wolfgang (James Hetfield), Kaos (Richard Steven Horvitz) and Glumshanks (Norm Macdonald). The engine of each episode is a mission against evil-doers, while the Academy framing lets veteran heroes pass on the Skylander way to a new generation of cadets. The series runs three seasons and 38 episodes as a 3D animated kids show with bright, playful energy, light action and team camaraderie. Its cartoon format sits within the tradition of family-friendly toy-based adventure series, and fans of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, Transformers: Rescue Bots and Avatar: The Last Airbender will find a similar appeal in its youthful heroics and fantastical world.
