## Synopsis

3% (2016-2020) is a Brazilian Netflix science fiction drama created by Pedro Aguilera, a Portuguese-language dystopian series in the vein of The Hunger Games and Squid Game. Set in a future where an elite inhabit a privileged island paradise far from the crowded slums, the story follows young candidates who must pass a brutal selection process for one chance to be among the 3% saved from squalor. Michele Santana (Bianca Comparato) and Ezequiel (João Miguel) anchor the drama, with Rodolfo Valente as Rafael and Vaneza Oliveira as Joana among the other principal figures. The engine of the series is simple and pressing: each candidate wants a place on the island, and each trial exposes allies, rivals and the moral cost of ambition. The show unfolds as a four-season serialized saga of roughly thirty-three episodes, with each season tightening the grip of the selection process and its secrets. Its tone is tense and atmospheric, mixing sharp social critique with hardscrabble urban grit and moments of raw, emotional betrayal. Fans of Snowpiercer and Squid Game will find resonance in its portrait of class stratification and desperate competition.
