## Synopsis

Pirates: Blood Brothers (1999) is an Italian national-television swashbuckling adventure miniseries created by Fabrizio Bettelli and broadcast on Canale 5. Across four ninety-minute episodes, two brothers who once fell for the same woman and parted in anger meet again years later, one now a famous pirate and the other a soldier ordered to track him down. Nicholas Rogers plays Ferrante 'Malasorte' Albrizzi, the pirate whose reckless streak drives the story, while Paolo Seganti plays his brother Ippolito 'Du Bois' Albrizzi, the officer bound to the hunt. Remo Girone, Mario Adorf, Padma Lakshmi and Anna Falchi fill out a cast of rival captains, scheming nobles and a woman caught between two men. Each episode is built from chases across open water, shifting alliances, duels and betrayals, with the brothers' buried history pulling every confrontation toward something personal. The tone is romantic and dramatic, with a heavy undercurrent of old wounds and loyalty tested by the sea. Fans of Pirates of the Caribbean, Horatio Hornblower and The Count of Monte Cristo will find resonance in its blend of high adventure, sea battles and lovers' rivalry. It is a single self-contained story told in a short, compact run.
