## Synopsis

Data Tutashkhia (1977-1978) is a Georgian-produced Soviet television miniseries broadcast on Central Television USSR and Television GSSR, a seven-episode limited series of one-hour installments. Its protagonist, Data Tutashkhia, played by Otar Megvinetukhutsesi, is a just man who becomes an outlaw after his sense of justice collides with the power around him. Tengiz Archvadze plays Mushni Zarandia among the principal figures in his orbit, while Jüri Järvet appears as Count Seged. The engine of the story is a long pursuit: the authorities hunt Data across years while he keeps trying to fight injustice, yet he cannot read the motives of the men he deals with and is repeatedly misunderstood. Each episode carries the weight of a sustained chase, shaped by loyalty, betrayal and the cost of conscience. The series is a dignified period drama with a melancholic, earnest tone, reflecting the honor-bound outlaw tradition in the vein of Robin Hood and The Count of Monte Cristo. Fans of principled rebel stories will find its patient, morally serious register rewarding.
