## Synopsis

Marvel's Inhumans (2017) is a single-season American superhero series created by Scott Buck for ABC, an eight-episode Marvel Television production that was canceled after its first run. Anson Mount plays Blackagar Boltagon, known as Black Bolt, the silent king of a secluded race of powered Inhumans, alongside Serinda Swan as his queen Medusalith Amaquelin, also called Medusa, and Iwan Rheon as the scheming Maximus Boltagon. After a military coup splinters the royal family, they barely escape to Hawaii, where their dealings with the lush island world and its people become the engine of each episode. The family must hide its abilities while navigating new allies, rivals and loyalties, and the stakes grow from personal survival to the possibility of protecting Earth itself. The tone mixes royal intrigue, family tension and sun-drenched fish-out-of-water moments with action set pieces built on superpowers. Fans of Heroes, The Umbrella Academy and Star Trek: Discovery will find resonance in its ensemble of gifted outsiders and its cosmic-scale family politics, though its tropical setting gives it a lighter, more unusual texture than most comic adaptations.
