## Synopsis

Cannabis (2016) is a French crime drama series created by Hamid Hlioua for ARTE, a six-episode limited series produced as a European co-production. When a boatload of cannabis belonging to Moroccan drug lord El Feo, played by Pedro Casablanc, is hijacked, the robbery sets off repercussions across three countries. Christophe Paou plays Morphée, Kate Moran plays Anna, and Pep Tosar plays Papi, with Yasin Houicha and Said El Mouden drawn into the fallout on the Moroccan side. The engine of the story is the scramble to recover the shipment and settle debts, as criminals, middlemen and pursuers move through shifting alliances and dangerous territory. Each of the six episodes tightens the net around the characters, building a sense of mounting pressure rather than a single case. The tone is gritty and tense, with a bleak, morally compromised atmosphere that suits viewers who enjoy transnational drug trade stories. Fans of Narcos, Gomorra and Traffik will find resonance in its grounded look at the cannabis economy and the people caught inside it.
