## Synopsis

Rillington Place (2016) is a British three-part miniseries created for BBC One, a grim true crime drama built around a real killer. Tim Roth plays serial killer John Christie, a quiet, deceptive man whose shabby flat at 10 Rillington Place in postwar London becomes the stage for murders that the surrounding neighbourhood fails to notice. Samantha Morton plays his wife Ethel, while Nico Mirallegro plays Timothy Evans, the young tenant whose wrongful conviction for crimes committed by Christie becomes the central injustice of the story. Jodie Comer plays Beryl Evans, and John Paul Hurley plays executioner Albert Pierrepoint, anchoring the case in its legal and human fallout. Rather than a case-of-the-week procedural, the drama moves steadily through a single tightly paced arc, its episodes built from domestic claustrophobia, bureaucratic indifference and the slow accumulation of dread. The mood is bleak, austere and melancholic, with a restrained period palette that makes the cramped house feel like a trap. Fans of Des and Making a Murderer will find resonance in its dramatized real crime, and admirers of Peaky Blinders will recognise its grim British period atmosphere. The result is a harrowing, unflinching look at a real case and the failures that let it happen.
