## Synopsis

Lastman (2016-2022) is a French animated action fantasy series created by Laurent Sarfati, Léonie de Rudder and Jérémie Périn for France 4 and France TV Slash. Set in Paxtown, a corrupt, mafia-ridden capital, the story follows Richard Aldana, a street-smart boxer with no ties and no ambitions, who finds his quiet life overturned when he is suddenly saddled with Siri, a girl targeted by the religious group The Order of the Lion. Voiced by Martial Le Minoux as Aldana and Maelys Ricordeau as Siri, the series builds its engine from a simple premise: a reluctant protector must keep a hunted girl alive while cult agents, gangsters and stranger forces close in. Each episode is a brisk, fight-filled outing that blends street brawling with fantasy mythology about a hidden other world. The tone mixes propulsive action, raunchy humor and bruised sincerity, with a gritty urban texture that recalls adult anime. Its two seasons are short, with a first season of twenty-six episodes and a brief second run. Fans of Castlevania, Ghost in the Shell and Blade Runner 2049 will find resonance in its blend of urban grit, cosmic mythology and stylized violence.
