## Synopsis

Snowfall (2016-present) is a Norwegian national-television family drama series created by Synne Teksum for NRK. Selma, a nine-year-old girl who has lost her parents in an accident, is the protagonist, and she is now living with Ruth (Kjersti Elvik), a strict neighbour who was only supposed to look after her and her dog Casper for a short while. The engine of the series is the slow, awkward process of a grieving child and a reluctant guardian learning to share a home, with everyday domestic situations and small community dramas filling each episode. Its tone is warm, sincere and gently wistful, with a seasonal, cozy atmosphere suited to young viewers. Presented in 25-minute episodes across two seasons so far, the show is a family-friendly children's drama that works best watched together. Fans of Heidi and Ronja Robbersdaughter will find resonance in its emotional sincerity and its tender portrait of a child finding a new family.
