## Synopsis

The Cliff (2009) is an Icelandic miniseries created for RÚV, a four-episode crime mystery. A visiting crime detective is sent to a small Icelandic community to help a local policewoman look into a suspicious accident that quickly grows into a web of bizarre incidents and unexplained deaths. The engine of the story is the slow unraveling of what happened, as the two investigators interview townspeople, revisit odd details, and chase connections that seem to point toward something beyond ordinary explanation. Principal cast includes Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as Helgi Marvinsson, Dóra Jóhannsdóttir as Inga, and Tinna Hrafnsdóttir as Anna, with Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir as Eydís in a key supporting role. The show is a single limited run of four episodes, each about forty-five minutes long. Its tone is brooding and atmospheric, with a cold, windswept rural setting that fuels a sense of isolation and creeping unease. Fans of Trapped, The Killing and Twin Peaks will find resonance in its nordic noir mood and its blend of procedural detail with uncanny undercurrents.
