## Synopsis

Valkyrien is a Norwegian crime drama set in Oslo that follows a physician who secretly runs an illegal hospital hidden beneath the city's metro system. Driven by a desperate search for a cure for his wife's terminal illness, he treats patients who cannot go to the authorities, while the criminal underworld that supplies and protects his clinic grows ever more dangerous. Every treatment carries the risk of exposure, and every compromise tightens the moral knot he has tied himself into. The tone is bleak, tense and claustrophobic, with grimy subterranean corridors, a paranoid undercurrent and a steady sense of urban dread. Its focus is on love pushing a decent person across ethical lines, the price of bending the law to do good, and the blurred boundary between healer and criminal. Viewers drawn to Nordic noir, morally compromised protagonists and serialized thrillers about hidden worlds will find much to hold them, though the pace is measured and the mood stays heavy throughout. Fans of Breaking Bad and The Killing will recognize the same mix of moral desperation and bleak atmosphere.
