## Synopsis

Four Seasons in Havana (2016) is a Spanish-German crime miniseries created by Leonardo Padura and distributed on Netflix, adapted from his novel series. Jorge Perugorría stars as Mario Conde, a wistful former police lieutenant turned detective who moves through the sultry streets of Havana, aided by his sergeant Manolo Palacios (Carlos Enrique Almirante) and old friends such as Carlos 'El Flaco' (Luis Alberto García) and Candito 'El Rojo' (Mario Guerra). Across four ninety-minute episodes, the engine of the story is Conde's stubborn probing of dark and deadly crimes in a city where revolutionary ideals have faded into everyday compromise. Each episode follows one season of the year, so the investigation unfolds as Havana slowly turns through its calendar, with the heat, the sea, and the crumbling architecture shaping the mood. The show is a slow, atmospheric crime story with a melancholic and nostalgic register, closer to the literary detective tradition than to fast action. Fans of Montalbano, Wallander and Pepe Carvalho will find resonance in its weary detective, its sense of place, and its unflinching look at a society in transition.
