## Synopsis

L'allieva (2016-2020) is an Italian crime comedy series created by Peter Exacoustos and Alessia Gazzola for Rai 1. Its clumsy but passionate coroner resident Alice Allevi (Alessandra Mastronardi) works in the forensic medicine department, where her sharp empathy for the dead guides her toward crucial intuitions in each case. Alongside her investigations she juggles romantic entanglements and her strained relationships with colleagues, including the brooding pathologist Claudio Conforti (Lino Guanciale) and her friend Giulia D'Angelo (Giorgia Gambuzza). The engine of the show is a mix of autopsy-room puzzles and personal growth: Alice has a great deal to learn, and each season asks her to balance the lab's grim routine against a messy private life. Episodes are largely self-contained cases of the week, with romance threading through a longer arc across three seasons and thirty-five episodes. Set in contemporary Rome, the series is warm and wry, with a cozy, lighthearted register that keeps its morgue scenes from feeling oppressive. Fans of Bones, Castle and Quincy, M.E. will find resonance in its blend of forensic detail, witty banter and gentle romance.
