## Synopsis

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (2017-2021) is a Japanese anime slice of life comedy produced by Kyoto Animation and broadcast on TOKYO MX. Office worker Kobayashi (voiced by Mutsumi Tamura) lives alone in an apartment until Tohru (Yuuki Kuwahara), a dragon who looks down on humans as inferior and foolish, moves in to repay a debt for being saved by her. Tohru does everything she can to help with chores and daily life, though not everything goes according to plan, and the household grows to include other supernatural visitors such as Kanna Kamui (Maria Naganawa) and Elma (Yuuki Takada). The engine of the series is the friction between a powerful creature's pride and her eagerness to serve, played out across short, self-contained episodes built from ordinary errands, workplace frustrations, and small domestic mishaps. Across two seasons and twenty-five episodes, the show keeps a gentle, cozy register, mixing whimsical fantasy with the rhythms of working life in modern Japan. Fans of Sweetness and Lightning, Hataraku Maou-sama!, and Monster Musume will find resonance in its warm, mundane approach to the fantastic.
